Storee Construction was recently mentioned in Missouri publication for our work at a manufacturing plant in Springfield, MO. We are currently working on expanding an existing facility to meet their demand as well as improve efficiencies inside the building and out.
Featured in the Springfield Business Journal, SMC Packaging Group Expansion Phase II project was required to consolidate SMC operations as well as increase overall production capacity. The company manufactures corrugated packaging and protective shipping boxes.
Already situated near a BNSF rail line, Storee Construction will increase rail access to accept six rail cars at a time. The addition also added room for finished products, storage, and additional manufacturing equipment to be installed by Storee to meet increased requirements. In all, Storee added 250,000 additional square feet, bringing the total square footage of the plant to 415,000.
Working with architect and engineering companies, we are scheduled to have the remodel finished in February of 2020. Phase II comes on the heels of just completed Phase I, which added 20,000 square feet of “flexibility and breathing room” as SMC CEO Kevin Ausburn said.
