Construction Site Evaluation

 In Blog, Commercial Construction

Is it time to expand your industrial or manufacturing business, but your current site can’t support it? If you’re looking to build a new facility, make sure to budget for a construction site evaluation when penciling out finances. Even if you think you’ve found the perfect piece of land, if you don’t do your due diligence, it could cost you down the road.

No matter if you’re building an industrial plant, a business park, or a residence, you need to make sure the property is the right one for you. Even after making sure the property is appropriately zoned, there is a lot more work to be done to make sure the plat is right for you.

But there’s more to a construction site evaluation than just checking the zoning of the site. Depending on what the facility is being used for, you’ll want to make sure the site can handle the infrastructure you’ll need. How much excavation will be needed? Is drainage an issue? How far away are existing utilities?

When choosing to partner with Storee Construction for your commercial construction, site evaluations are just one of the services we offer. We coordinate designs, preparing the site, and building your facility from the ground up. But none of that can happen until you’ve found the right plot of land to build on.

The Importance of Site Evaluations

While the land may be zoned for industrial purposes, a lot of investigation still needs to take place. Are there environmental concerns, easements, or existing structures that need to be moved or removed entirely? Will the land support expansion if that’s what you’re planning for?

During initial conversations, we take the time to find out what you need from your facility and if the land will support it. From there, we’ll perform a soil evaluation, obtain the required permits, and communicate every other detail of the design-build plan. This process ensures everyone is on the same page and greatly reduces any issues down the road.

Without an in-depth site evaluation, you could find yourself mired in costly work stoppages as unforeseen problems are addressed. In many cases, site evaluations are needed for the permitting process. And don’t you want to make sure you’re making the right decision? This is a major investment – you want to make sure it’s done right.

Storee Construction has been doing this for 50 years in the Midwest region for several different buildings, facilities, and plants. We’ll understand what it takes to build from the ground up as well as upgrading your existing structure. Before making a decision to buy land, give us a call and we’ll make sure it’s the right site for you.
